Included in this year’s herb selection are over 100 varieties of herbs and over 3000 plants, including: Basil, Bergamot, Geranium, Chervil, Horehound, Nasturtium, Lemon Verbena, Perilla, Oregano, Honeymelon Sage, Salad Burnet, Tarragon, Savory (Herb of the Year), and of course, Rosemary.
Organizers are excited about the Friday evening herb preview, An Herbal Affair, to make the annual Mother’s Day weekend event a true herb-lovers occasion.
As tradition goes, Herb Day will feature a day full of expert speakers and demonstrations on the upper plaza, a varied plant sale and herb-related vendors. Herb Day is free and will feature the Franklin County Master Gardener volunteers ready to answer plant enthusiast questions and a medicinal herb walk around Creekside Park. Sponsors such as Andrea Taylor, State Farm, Agent, and the Gahanna Convention and Visitors Bureau make this festival possible.
